PINHOLE  :

Background
A pinhole camera, or 'dark cambare' is a simple optical imaging device in the shape of a closed box or chamber. In one of its sides is a small hole which, via the rectilinear propagation of light, creates an image of the outside space on the opposite side of the box.

Constructing a simple pinhole camera is easy. We need biscuit tin, black tape, and thumb pin.

1)  Make a hole in one side of a closable box made of material which doesn't let light in.
2) On the outside of the box, stick a strip of black tape over the opening which acts as the release.
3) Then, in a dark room, attach a piece of film onto the opposite side and the camera is ready.

How to develop the paper :

1) Take out the film from the biscuit tin in a dark room.
2) Put the film into chemical tray (photo developer) for 2 minutes and shake the tray gentle to let the chemical distribute the surface.
3) After 2 minutes take out the film and put inside the second chemical (stop bath) for 1 minute.
4) Then put inside the last chemical (rapid fixer) for 5 minutes.
5) Lastly, put the film inside the water flow for 30 minutes.

Time : 10 seconds.
Wheather : Hot and brighlight.
Problem : Bubble effect on the film.

DIGITAL CAMERA :

- What is Aperture?
Aperture controls the brightness of the imge that passes through the lens and falls on the image sensor. It is epressed as an f- number (written as "f/ " followed by a number), such as f/ 1.4, f/ 2 and so on. The higher the f- number, the smaller the aperture and the less light that passes through the lens; the lower the f- number, the larger the aperture and the more light tahat passes through the lens. Changing the f- number also changes the distance in front of or behind the focus point the appears to be in focus.

- What is Shutter Speed ?
The aperture diaphragm of a lens (bigger and smaller values) and the timing (open and close) of the camera's shutter curtain. Both perform the tasks of regulating the amount of the light entering the camera and expose onto the film.

- What is ISO ?
The ISO speed determines how sensitive the camera is to incoming light. Similar to shutter speed, it also correlates 1:1 with how much the exposure increase or decrease. A lower ISO speed is almost always desirable, since higher ISO speed dramatically increase image noise.

- Light Painting
Background
Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand- held light source or by moving the camera. The term light painting also encompasses images lit from outside the frame with hand- held light sources.

Lighting elements : Flashlight, light up toy, cell phone, torchlight.

Needs : Digital camera, tripod stand, any matter from lighting element.

Procedure :

1) Setting the shutter speed with 30 seconds.
2) Put the camera on tripod stand.
3) Ask your friend to press the shutter button if you don't have a remote control.

Shutter speed : 30"
Lighting element : Torchlight

Shutter Speed : 25"
Lighting element : Torchlight

Shutter speed : 30"
Lighting element : Cell phone
